Aulos

Before a battle, during the hunt, during banquets or funeral rites and weddings, even when a master punished his servant the music, played above all with the Aulos a flute invented by the Etruscans, was always present and accompanied their life daily. The reference musical score for the flute in this work is composed of genetic sequences (ACGT) of mitochondrial DNA taken from the genetic makeup of the Etruscans referring to studies concerning the biological basis of the musical aptitude of the Etruscans using data elaborated with methods of molecular genetics which are available on specific databases.
