Lanterne

This work was suggested by some urban LED street lights that malfunctioned intermittently. It is late in the evening, the dim glow of a lantern illuminates the details of a portion of the facade of a building. For a moment you see a shutter, then some wires with hanging clothes, dangling antenna cables, gutters, plants and other details that then disappear in the dark and then reappear. When it is dark, of course, the aforementioned things still continue to exist. At the level of elementary particles it seems that things do not work quite like this and reality is not as it appears to us. And why shouldn’t this be the case even outside the world of particle physics where Heisenberg had intuited that things only exist if we observe them? The intermittent lanterns prove to be an opportunity to closely observe the mechanisms of one’s imagination.
