Seismic noise

The scale simulation of an earthquake began with the seismic analysis of the site performed by means of a triaxial seismograph with electrodynamic sensors aimed at acquiring the background noise for 24 continuous hours. These data were subsequently processed and translated into sounds. The frequencies of the sounds influence three motors positioned on the body of the module together with paper towers similar to residential buildings typical of urban centers of contemporary architecture. The activity of the actuators causes the paper towers to oscillate, making them visible through mechanical stresses, seismic noise and environmental noise. We do not move, but we literally navigate on the surface waves that propagate on the earth’s surface. The human body perceives little of all this noise allowing us to resonate for different frequency ranges.
