In his multimedia installation, Caloro links the traditional medium of the marionette with modern technology. In doing so, his interest is less in placing his of behavior, often conditioned. In Corrispondenze the computer and the marionette/ executing the performance) of a dancer and the choreography written for him like a score: the sequences entered as data into a computer program. This conveys the information as commands for various motors, which in turn control the movements of the object. In this way, the execution of the choreography comes about in a purely objective manner, unlike with human dancers, and precisely in the way the program has determined it to be: there are no deviations, for example of the kind caused by subjective interpretations and moods or individual talents. The execution of the choreography by the marionette/object becomes the ideal of the dancer: emotionless and without a soul, and thus “perfect”. Jari Ortwig
