For the photograph Sovrapposizioni the artist developed a computer program that compared hundreds them. The algorithms become architectural strategies here, through which virtual city views come about that do not exist in real life. The aesthetic criteria used by the computer program contrasts of light and dark, thus allowing the computer program to read them. Unlike the pre-selection of the photographs that was undertaken by Caloro, the categorization and arrangement of the image elements by the computer has been liberated from any historical or cultural aspects that shape and influence man’s aesthetic way of viewing: the physical imprint or the digital print.
