BIANCO DI SPAGNA

2026 — 10 min. Spanish white (thick), basin, floor brush, rag, open floor Performers: 2 acrobatic dancers First presented at: to be defined

The first dancer dips her hands and feet into the basin of thick Spanish white. She begins to move through the space. Every point of contact leaves a white print on the floor: hands, feet; the path becomes visible. The second dancer follows with the floor brush and the rag. She erases the traces. Not all of them: some she leaves, others she removes. The first cannot retrace her steps. Where the white has been removed, she has to change direction, open a new path. Trace and erasure alternate in a continuous exchange. The danced gesture is made visible for a few minutes — white prints on a dark floor — and then reset to zero. Halfway through the performance the two swap roles. What remains at the end is a floor with partial marks, interrupted paths, trajectories that can no longer be reconstructed in full.

Entropic regime. One dancer leaves white traces, the other erases them. The trace appears and disappears. At the end only partial marks remain, interrupted paths, trajectories that cannot be reconstructed. Here the string is the trace, and it degrades.
