MAGLIONI BIANCHI

2026 3 white wool sweaters (loose knit, sleeves reaching the knee), large plastic needles, balls of coloured yarn Performers: 3 dancers First presented at: to be defined

Three dancers each wear a white wool sweater with sleeves reaching the knee. The knit is loose, with holes large enough for a needle to pass through. Each dancer has a large plastic needle and balls of yarn in different colours. The movement arises from the act of sewing themselves to one another: one dancer threads the yarn through her neighbour’s sweater, pulls it, knots it. As the threads woven between the three bodies increase, the distance between the dancers shrinks. Each new connection constrains the movements that follow. Arms lock, torsos draw closer, legs lose range. A gesture that was possible before becomes impossible. The three look for a way to keep moving within the constraints they have built. The coloured threads make visible the progressive reduction of the space of action. The duration coincides with the time needed to make every movement impracticable.

Entropic regime. The dancers sew themselves together with woollen threads. Each new connection constrains the next movement. The coloured threads make visible the progressive reduction of the space of action. Here the string is literal: wool. The circuit runs towards immobility.
