2026 30 telescopic poles (up to 6 m high), ACE satellite (EPAM instrument), artificial intelligence system, earpiece Space: 16 sq m Performer: to be defined First presented: to be defined
The space contains 30 telescopic poles up to 6 metres high, set vertically from floor to ceiling, in precarious balance. Every 32 seconds the ACE satellite measures the flux of electrons, protons and alpha particles through the EPAM instrument. An artificial intelligence system receives the data and generates a single instruction. The instruction reaches a performer in the space via an earpiece. The performer carries it out by moving among the poles. Every displacement of the body causes swaying, tilting and falls. Fallen poles strike others, setting off chain reactions. A new instruction arrives every 32 seconds, regardless of the state of the space. Fallen poles are not raised again. The floor progressively fills with horizontal poles, the paths narrow, the number of poles left standing decreases. The satellite data change continuously. Each performance depends on the conditions of the solar wind at that moment. The event cannot be replicated.
Acentric regime. The string starts 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth, at the ACE satellite. It passes through an artificial intelligence system and reaches the performer’s earpiece. The manipulator has no intentions: it is a flow of particles. The performer executes, the poles fall, no one decides the sequence.
